Once upon a time, the venerable Los Angeles Times ranked this company "Best of the Bunch" among its internet competitors. Perhaps they were impressed with the company's team approach to writing (they've got grammarians on staff, for goodness sake) and exclusive partnerships with the likes of the American Management Association, CareerBuilder.com, Military.com, and colleges throughout the nation. We were impressed too, until we noticed the company stumbling badly on the issue of customer service. Factor that in when considering this firm.

The Step-By-Step:

Place your secure order on their web site and include a synopsis of your work history, or attach a copy of your current resume. Include a e-resume.netgood time to call. You'll be assigned a contact person who will conduct a telephone interview--gathering more background info, identifying your strengths and exploring the best marketing approach for your qualifications. A team of writers goes to work. You'll receive a draft of the resume for your approval--suggest any changes until you're happy with the end product. You'll receive your final resume via email, as well as 20 hard copies on high quality cotton bond paper sent via Priority Mail.

 Here's what we liked:
  • All writers have real-world business backgrounds. Each is certified and works in-house in a team environment.
  • Pricing is fair and up-front.
  • Resume via email and hardcopy is a nice touch.
  • Adequate number of sample resumes are made available on the web site to give you an idea of quality of writing you can expect.
  • Happiness Guarantee. They're fond of saying, "our work doesn't stop until you say so." In other words, they guarantee your happiness with the resume. Until you're happy, they supposedly continue working.
Here's what we DIDN'T like:
  • We prefer results. While happiness is nice (see above bullet point), we have a greater appreciation for quantitative language. Something along the lines of "we guarantee interviews within 30 days." Perhaps we're just spoiled by exactly such a guarantee from the likes of AspirationsResume.com.
  • We like a company to actually answer our inquiries. Three emails we sent to the company, over a two month time frame and employing three different email addresses, were each summarily ignored. Not exactly a shinning example of attentive customer relations.

In summary, yes, the LA Times smiled favorably on this company at one point in time. To the company's benefit, we like the team approach and the quality of workmanship on the finished product is respectable. However, customer service (or lack thereof) drags down the rating. We are much more comfortable recommending the likes of Aspirations Resume or Resume Corner.

Still, if you must visit the site...
